India has always treated Kashmir as its colony: Report

Islamabad, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT): India has been treating Kashmir as its colony right from 1947 when its troops illegally landed in Srinagar on 27th October 1947 against the partition plan of the subcontinent and the aspirations of the Kashmiris. The Modi regime’s August 5, 2019 illegal move to repeal the special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir was another step towards colonizing Kashmir, said a report released by the KMS, today. It said colonization of IIOJK has since long been a dream of RSS and BJP.

The report said India is systematically paving the way for settler colonialism in the territory by introducing new laws. It said Modi is taking cue from Israeli playbook to further its settler-colonial agenda in the occupied territory. Modi removed the barrier for non-locals to settle in IIOJK by revoking Art 370, it added.

It said as part of its settler-colonial project, India is changing demography by settling non-Kashmiri Hindus in the territory which is a clear violation of the United Nations resolutions and international laws. The report said the world should wake up to take notice of the Indian settler-colonial project in IIOJK and help resolve the Kashmir dispute according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
