Lahore: India cannot unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, according to Mueen Wattoo, Pakistan’s Minister for Water Resources. Speaking at a seminar on water issues in Lahore, Wattoo emphasized that any such action by India would be considered an act of war.
Wattoo underscored Pakistan’s commitment to defending its water rights by raising the issue at all international forums. He stated that Pakistan views water as its lifeline and will not demonstrate leniency regarding the matter.
The Minister also noted that the water flow in Pakistan’s rivers remains normal, reassuring the public amidst concerns over potential disruptions.
