According to a report from Kashmir Media Service, the campaign falsely implicates Yunus and aims to destabilize the nation’s political landscape.
Dr. Yunus, who serves as the Chief Adviser to the interim government, addressed the nation recently, expressing concern over the spread of false information. He highlighted a marked increase in rumors across various media platforms since the interim government took office. Yunus emphasized that these efforts are deliberate attempts to undermine the country’s stability.
The disinformation campaign coincides with reports of false claims circulating in Indian media, alleging Yunus’s flight to France, a rumor later debunked. Yunus’s statement underscores the importance of vigilance and critical consumption of information in the digital age, where misinformation can rapidly proliferate.
The Kashmir Media Service report accuses Indian-funded networks in Geneva of aggressively working to reinstall the Awami League, posing a threat to Bangladesh’s democratic transition. The same diaspora members previously involved in anti-Pakistan campaigns are now reportedly pushing narratives favorable to Sheikh Hasina under foreign influence.
From Geneva to Washington, the involvement of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in undermining Bangladesh’s interim government is alleged to be widespread. The interim government continues its efforts to restore stability, while India-funded lobby groups in Europe, the UK, and the US are accused of working to bring the Awami League back into power.
The campaign against Yunus, purportedly driven by India-aligned activists, is seen as a tool to distort facts and attack Bangladesh’s sovereignty. The report calls for Bangladesh to reclaim its narrative on the global stage, as it faces challenges from what it describes as political subversion disguised as lobbying.
