India Attaches Civilian Property in Occupied Kashmir.

Srinagar: The Narendra Modi-led Indian regime has attached the property of one more civilian, Manzoor Ahmad Langoo, in Srinagar, occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) attached the property in the Zaldagar area of the city under charges. The property, owned by Langoo, has been seized following a case filed against his son, Adil Manzoor Langoo, who is already in detention.

The property attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which allows for the seizure of assets based on allegations of what the Modi regime considers ‘unlawful activities’.

Critics argue that property seizures in Kashmir have been increasingly used as a tool to target families without clear or substantiated evidence, raising concerns about the laws and powers. The practice of attaching properties under UAPA has sparked outrage, with many blaming the Indian authorities for using the law to intimidate and punish individuals based on charges.

Kashmiris see the attachment as part of a broader pattern of collective punishment affecting the local population. Many families in Kashmir have faced the confiscation of property without due process or transparent legal proceedings.
