Islamabad, July 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):India is denying space to Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists by arresting them on fake charges and even media men and ordinary Kashmiris are being implicated in fake cases to break their resolve. Illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who has been on hunger strike since July 22 in protest against denial of fair trial to him, shifted back from a hospital to infamous Tihar Jail, said a report released by the KMS, today.
It said the RSS-backed Hindutva government has arrested thousands of Kashmiris since 5th August 2019 when Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed Kashmir’s special status and imposed military siege in the territory.
The report deplored that the Modi regime was deliberately prolonging illegal detention of the Kashmiris for their political beliefs and shift the detainees from IIOJK to India to pressurize masses and create problems for the detainees’ families. The current arrest spree in IIOJK is a revengeful policy to silence the voice of freedom, it said.
The report lamented that India was practicing all methods of coercion to punish the Kashmiris for their firm resolve to freedom and the draconian laws like Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) are used against the Kashmiris to force them into submission.
It said the Kashmiri detainees are confined to cells and are being denied medical treatment in Indian jails. India is brazenly violating Geneva Convention on prisoners’ rights in IIOJK, it added. The report said that the Modi regime must be punished for illegally detaining thousands of Kashmiris and the global community must come to rescue illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
