Lahore, April 19, 2023 (PPI-OT): A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi last night. In the meeting, important decisions were taken regarding the prevention of smuggling of wheat, sugar and fertilizer and stabilization of prices.

The crackdown will continue. Every truck carrying sugar from the mills will be monitored. In the meeting, it was decided to strictly monitor the exit routes of Punjab. Trucks will also be checked at the check posts. Mohsen Naqvi directed.

That indiscriminate action should be continued against hoarders of wheat, sugar and fertilizer. A committee consisting of provincial ministers will negotiate with sugar mill owners to stabilize sugar prices. Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi further directed that commissioners and deputy commissioners should perform their duties in an active manner to achieve the target of wheat purchase.
