Important message of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar about health screening and provision of medical facilities for police employees

Lahore, May 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has issued a video message to the police force regarding health screening and provision of medical facilities for them. IG Punjab said that around 30 to 40 crore rupees would be spent for the health welfare of the Sipah and necessary tests, including the treatment of diseases of the heart, kidney and other important organs. Dr Usman Anwar said that health screening of half of the constabulary has been done while in some districts 100% screening has been completed.

He gave Shabash to the DPOs of the districts who completed the health screening of the constabulary. IG Punjab said that during the health screening, the employees came to know about some diseases including hepatitis B and C, which were not even known to them earlier. These dangerous diseases destroy the liver with time.

IG Punjab said that the cure for Hepatitis C has been discovered, all the employees suffering from the disease would be provided free treatment by the department. He said that pill used for treatment of Hepatitis C is expensive and Punjab government is making necessary arrangements for provision of medicine to employees.

IG Punjab said that a permanent cure for hepatitis B has not yet been discovered, but supportive treatment is available which would benefit the affected employees. Dr. Usman Anwar said that It has been decided to vaccinate the remaining force and families of employees to protect them all against this disease and police department shall bear all expenses in this regard.

IG Punjab said this vaccine is completely safe and first of all I would get myself vaccinated in front of you all. IG Punjab said that in future all these diseases would not harm any official and the police force would lead a better healthy life. In a message to the force, IG Punjab said that the employees who are sick should get medicine while all other healthy employees get ready for vaccination.

The aim of all these measures is to take care of the health, well-being and treatment of the police employees. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police force should unite and become a leaden wall in front of all the criminals, including the oppressors and terrorists.

IG Punjab said that the protection of life and property and dignity of Pakistani citizens is the primary duty of the police force. He vowed that all police employees would be treated in time and would perform their duties leading a healthy life.

2 lakh rupees was released from the welfare fund of Punjab Police to the mother of two martyrs of Lahore Police. Likewise, Multan Police ASI Qadeer Akhtar was released Rs 1 lakh rupees to pay the bill of brain surgery. An honorarium was approved for the staff posted in all the training colleges and schools of the province.

Moreover, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken steps for the welfare of police employees and their families and in this regard two lakhs of rupees for the treatment of mother of two martyrs of Lahore Police, Constable Ghulam Murtaza and Constable Ali Raza, have been given under medical grant from welfare fund of Punjab Police.

Similarly, a medical grant of one lac rupees has been released from the fund for ASI Qadeer Akhtar of Multan Police to pay the bill of brain surgery. IG Punjab has approved to give an honorarium to the staff posted in all the training colleges and schools of the province, 1.25 crore would be given to the staff in the training institutes of Lahore, Sihala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Farooq Abad and Sargodha.

IG Punjab while ordering priority measures for the welfare of police employees and their families, directed all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to ensure all possible measures for welfare of families of in service, retired, Ghazis and martyrs.
