IMF Recognizes Pakistan’s Economic Stability and Resilience

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has acknowledged Pakistan’s progress in achieving stronger economic stability, resilience, and policy credibility, according to Khurram Schehzad, Advisor to the Finance Minister. Schehzad highlighted this recognition as a significant milestone in Pakistan’s economic stabilization and reform journey, signaling a positive outlook for the country’s economic future.

According to Radio Pakistan, the acknowledgment comes on the heels of a staff-level agreement reached between Pakistan and the IMF. Schehzad, in a post on the social media platform X, emphasized that Pakistan is demonstrating its ability to withstand external shocks while maintaining macroeconomic stability. He noted that this development is crucial for strengthening institutional credibility and regaining international investor confidence.

Schehzad further stated that the IMF’s assessment serves as independent recognition of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to implement reforms and sustain economic momentum. He underscored the importance of continuing and deepening these reforms to ensure long-term economic growth and stability.
