Islamabad, In a significant dialogue on Friday, Ms. Esther Perez Ruiz, the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Pakistan, met with Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, to discuss the ongoing digitalization efforts in Pakistan.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting focused on various aspects of the digital transformation in Pakistan, particularly connectivity, fiberization, and the availability of digital devices, which Minister Shaza Fatima highlighted as foundational to the country’s digitalization strategy.
The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming Pakistan into a digital economy under the National Digitalization Plan, which targets key sectors such as health, education, and agriculture for upliftment. Additionally, the Minister pointed out the burgeoning potential of Pakistan’s IT sector, noting increasing IT exports and the government’s initiatives to facilitate the private sector under the Prime Minister’s vision.
