Singapore, At the 42nd Session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, Mr. Bolat Akchulakov, President of the World Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO, delivered a compelling address. Highlighting the organization’s commitment to promoting UNESCO’s key priorities and values, Akchulakov emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity in overcoming global challenges.
According to UNESCO, Mr. Akchulakov took pride in representing one of UNESCO’s oldest partner networks. Established in 1947, the Clubs’ movement unites nearly five thousand organizations in 90 countries and focuses on engaging civil society in UNESCO’s mission. In his speech, Mr. Akchulakov stressed the significance of cultural and educational events in uniting young people worldwide towards a sustainable future, showcasing the pivotal role of unity in addressing current difficulties.
Marking the 75th anniversary of the movement, a historical publication was prepared in collaboration with Kazakhstan and UNESCO, summarizing the best practices of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO. This publication is scheduled for official presentation at UNESCO Headquarters on November 16th, coinciding with UNESCO’s establishment anniversary.
Mr. Akchulakov outlined the World Federation’s priorities for the upcoming four years, including strengthening the movement, enhancing cooperation with UNESCO, and harnessing youth potential through leadership development. He concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to UNESCO for its ongoing support and reaffirmed the World Federation’s dedication to supporting UNESCO’s aims in accordance with established guidelines.
