Imam Fatally Attacked by Extremists in Jharkhand

Ranchi: An imam was tragically killed by a group of Hindutva extremists in Jharkhand after he led prayers at a local mosque, marking another violent incident against religious figures in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Maulana Akbar Hussain was assaulted in Dumka town. He was accused of theft by his attackers and severely beaten, despite his attempts to protest his innocence. Hussain was later discovered by passersby who transported him to a hospital, where he ultimately died from his injuries.

Dumka’s Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Kumar, suggested that the attack was the result of a mistaken identity during a recent theft incident in the area. The event has incited considerable alarm and condemnation from the Muslim community in Dumka, prompting calls for a comprehensive investigation into the attack. Community leaders, including Asif Ali, have expressed concerns about the safety of minorities and the recurring nature of such violent acts.
