IIOJK Workers Face Eid Without Pending Salaries Despite Repeated Appeals

Srinagar: Workers in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are still awaiting their pending salaries ahead of Eid, despite multiple appeals and protests. This situation contrasts with Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where regular and daily wage workers receive their salaries in advance on significant occasions like Eid.

The Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Kashmir (EJAC), in a statement released in Srinagar, urged the occupation authorities to disburse the pending salaries and wages before the festival. EJAC President Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam highlighted the urgency of the matter, as Eid approaches, and emphasized the plight of hundreds of employees and temporary workers who remain without their earnings.

Shabnam underscored that these workers consistently perform their duties during crises, and withholding their earned salaries and wages is unjust to them and their families. The call for action comes as the workers prepare for Eid without the financial support they have earned.
