IIOJK Scientists Earn Spots on Stanford’s Top 2% Global Researchers List


Srinagar: A group of scientists from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been recognized among the world’s leading researchers, with their inclusion in Stanford University’s list of the top 2% of global researchers. This acknowledgment underscores the significant and growing influence of the region’s scholars in the international scientific community.



According to Kashmir Media Service, these researchers have made substantial contributions across a variety of scientific fields including Clinical Medicine, Food Technology, Nanotechnology, and Earth Sciences. Notably, the list features Prof. Farooq A. Masoodi from the Department of Food Technology, Prof. Shakeel A. Romshoo and Prof. Ghulam Jeelani from Earth Sciences, and Prof. Manzoor A. Shah from Botany, among others.



Additional scientists recognized include Prof. Aziz-ul-Azeem from Mathematics, Prof. Imtiyaz Ahmad from Zoology, and Prof. Firdous Ahmad Khanday from Biotechnology. Also listed are Dr. Manzoor A. Mir from Bioresources, and Dr. Shabir A. Parah and Dr. Farooq Ahmad Khanday from Electronics. Dr. Parvaiz Koul, former Director of Soura Institute of Medical Sciences, is noted for his contributions to Respiratory Medicine.
