Srinagar, The High Court of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has overturned the detention of four individuals who were booked under the contentious Public Safety Act (PSA).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the court ruled in favor of Muzamil Mohammad Wagay, Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, Bashir Ahmad Koka, and Irfan Ali Runga, all of whom had been detained under the PSA. The High Court found that the detentions were based on vague grounds, leading to the quashing of the orders. The court has directed the authorities to release the four individuals.
This decision represents a significant judicial stance against the use of the PSA, a law often criticized for its broad and vague terms that have led to numerous detentions in the region.
