IIOJK High Court Overturns Detention of Three Individuals Under PSA

Karachi: The High Court of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has overturned the detention of three individuals who were held under the Public Safety Act (PSA), a law often criticized as draconian. This decision marks a significant legal development in the region.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, The Kashmir Media Service reported that Justice Sanjay Dhar of the High Court revoked the detention orders under PSA against Suhail Ahmed Malla, Umar-ul-Islam, and Aadil Yousuf Wani. The court’s ruling highlights the ongoing legal challenges and human rights concerns associated with the PSA, which has been used for various detentions in the region.

Following the court’s decision, directives were issued to the occupation authorities to release the detainees immediately.
