IIOJK HC quashes PSA detention of Kashmiri youth lodged in Haryana jail

Srinagar, The High Court of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the illegal detention of a Kashmiri youth booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Senior Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak representing the incarcerated youth said that the detention of 22-year-old Muhammad Ilyas Dar was quashed by the court of Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul.

Ilyas Dar, a resident of Rahpora Khudwani area of Kulgam district, was arrested in May 2022 on the charges of carrying out anti-India activities and booked under the PSA. He is currently languishing at a jail in Gurgaon city of the Indian state of Haryana.

The court after hearing the arguments of Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak directed the authorities to release the detainee from the jail.
