IGP Sindh Calls for Enhanced Police Station Inspections to Improve Public Service and Discipline

Karachi: In a significant move to uplift police performance and discipline, an important meeting was held at the Central Police Office in Karachi under the chairmanship of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. The session focused on both formal and informal inspections of police stations across the region, involving high-ranking police officials.

According to Sindh Police press release, the meeting saw participation from various ranks including Welfare and Works, Operations, IAB, DIGs from Crime and Investigations Branch, Headquarters, Establishment, and Investigations. Additional IGs from Admin, AIB, Operations, Balamshafa, and DIGs from Hyderabad, Sukkur, along with SSPs from Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, and Larkana joined through video link.

During the meeting, comprehensive briefings were given by the DIGs covering all aspects of the current inspection mechanisms in place for police stations and related sub-departments, focusing on adherence to police rules and regulations. IG Sindh instructed the officers to ensure that inspections consider the best interests of public service, aiming to enhance the environment, training, and service delivery at the police stations.

Memon emphasized the importance of proper management, safety, and utilization of police records and case properties. He stressed maintaining discipline within the force and ensuring that all official equipment and vehicles are fully functional. Moreover, he directed the increase of capable manpower at police stations and the efficient disposal of unnecessary staff to streamline operations.

Highlighting the need for skilled and experienced duty officers at stations, Memon called for measures to utilize the allocated budgets effectively and promote a more autonomous policing process gradually. He also mandated stringent legal action against individuals involved with the drug mafia and related criminal activities, underscoring the need for a disciplined and public-friendly police force.

This meeting marks a pivotal step towards improving the operational standards and public image of the police force in Sindh, aiming for a more disciplined and efficient law enforcement system.
