IGP Rizvi Directs Overhaul of Policing Tactics in Islamabad

Islamabad: Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a command conference at the Central Police Office in Islamabad, focusing on enhancing policing standards in the city. The meeting gathered senior police officials to evaluate current operations and strategize improvements.

During the conference, IGP Rizvi assessed the performance of various officers, urging full compliance with issued orders and stressing teamwork in executing assigned tasks. He emphasized the importance of upgrading checkposts, deploying young officers for improved citizen interaction, and ensuring robust security measures.

IGP Rizvi also addressed the need for maintaining the high standards of the Islamabad Police. He reviewed ongoing awareness campaigns and instructed officers to enhance the police reporting system, with progress reports required every six hours.

Traffic management was a key topic, with directives issued to eliminate illegal parking in business areas. The CTO Islamabad was tasked with conducting strict crackdowns on violators to maintain road traffic flow.

For effective city patrolling, IGP Rizvi called for improvements in the discipline and operations of the Dolphin Squad, mandating active participation from both male and female officers.

A proposal to establish a security and safety committee was also discussed, aiming to bolster security at critical sites and conduct comprehensive operations against criminal elements. Additionally, a crackdown on begging and associated illegal activities was ordered.

The conference concluded with the announcement of a new tourist police initiative to assist local and international visitors in Islamabad, highlighting the force’s commitment to public service and safety.
