Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a review of the city’s traffic management in a meeting with Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk. The session focused on improving traffic flow, particularly around construction sites, educational institutions, and major highways, while addressing congestion in busy areas.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP directed enhanced coordination in traffic management to ease daily commutes for citizens. Measures include organized parking at commercial centers, offices, and schools, and additional personnel during peak hours to ensure smooth traffic flow. The IGP emphasized strict enforcement of traffic laws and the need for timely public advisories on alternate routes through social media and local radio. Modern initiatives to streamline the driving license issuance process were also discussed, underscoring the police’s commitment to effective traffic management and citizen safety.
