Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi recently conducted a thorough review of security arrangements at the Jinnah Convention Centre and the Red Zone, in preparation for the upcoming OIC Conference. His visit focused on assessing duty points and overall security protocols to ensure a secure environment for the event.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP inspected various security checkpoints, engaged with officers and officials on duty, and received a detailed briefing from senior police officers concerning the security plan, response mechanisms, and operational arrangements. During his visit, Rizvi emphasized the need for foolproof security, effective surveillance, close coordination among security agencies, and a prompt response throughout the conference.
He instructed officers to perform their duties with diligence and professionalism to safeguard participants, distinguished guests, and the general public. In addition to the security review, IGP Rizvi held a meeting with AIG Legal Tahir Kazim to assess ongoing investigations, legal matters, and court proceedings. He urged the AIG Legal to ensure transparency in investigations and effective pursuit of court cases, aiming for timely and fair justice.
The IGP reaffirmed the Islamabad Police’s dedication to upholding the rule of law, promoting transparency, and protecting citizens’ rights through all necessary measures.
