IGP Islamabad Engages Directly with Citizens in Open Court

ISLAMABAD: In a move to enhance public trust and ensure accountability, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, conducted an open court at the Central Police Office in Islamabad, where he engaged directly with both citizens and police officers.

During the session, IGP Rizvi listened attentively to various concerns raised by attendees and promptly issued directives to senior police officers to address these issues effectively and efficiently. Emphasizing the importance of merit-based resolution, Rizvi stated that addressing citizens’ concerns is a top priority for the police department. He assured the public that negligence and carelessness in police duties would not be tolerated.

Rizvi encouraged citizens facing any police-related issues to attend the open court sessions, reiterating that his office remains accessible to the public. In his directives, he instructed officers to resolve grievances within a specified time frame and report back to the Central Police Office.

Further, the IGP emphasized the importance of adhering to designated office hours by all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs), urging them to prioritize citizen issues. He highlighted that daily open court sessions play a significant role in promptly addressing public grievances.

The IGP also outlined ongoing measures by the Islamabad Police aimed at facilitating citizens and stressed the commitment of zonal officers and SHOs to meet with citizens during office hours to resolve their concerns diligently.
