Karachi: Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, met with 44 newly recruited Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), including 10 DSP Legal, at the Central Police Office in Karachi on August 16, 2024. The meeting served as an official welcome and a call to uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity within the force.
According to Sindh Police, this orientation session provided the new DSPs with insights into the expectations and challenges of their roles in law enforcement. IG Memon shared experiences from his own service, focusing on the crucial aspects of police work such as discipline, honesty, and justice. He stressed the importance of maintaining a positive public image through meticulous adherence to rules and dedicated service.
During the session, IG Memon underscored the significance of integrating these values into daily policing duties to enhance the effectiveness of the criminal justice system. He encouraged the DSPs to build reputable careers by demonstrating fairness and impartiality in their actions, which he said would not only benefit the department but also earn them respect in the eyes of the public.
Additionally, IG Memon highlighted a recent policy update, noting that the Sindh government has raised the quota for women in police jobs to 15 percent, reflecting a commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion within the force.
The meeting concluded with IG Memon expressing his hopes that the DSPs would remain steadfast in their principles and contribute positively to the safety and security of the community.
