IG Sindh Outlines Novel Strategy for Combatting Banditry in Kutch Area

Karachi, In a bid to intensify operations against banditry in Kutch, Sindh, Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a meeting to strategize on innovative and actionable measures. The discussion aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of the operation and the safety of the region’s inhabitants.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting featured contributions from DIG Sukkur and SSPs from Ghotki, Sukkur, Shikarpur, and Kashmore/Kandhkot. They reviewed the operation’s progress and strategized through video link, highlighting the necessity for intelligence-based operations and exceptional strategies to tackle the dacoits in Kutch. Zubair Habib, the Chief of CPLC, also participated, emphasizing the collaboration between police and CPLC, especially in technical support for organized operations and safe hostage recovery.

IG Memon announced provisions for police personnel operating in the Kutch area, including a monthly allowance and strict leave policies to maintain operational strength. The meeting underscored the broader challenge of protecting citizens from exploitation, especially those lured by deceptive offers over social media. Memon stressed enhancing the efficiency of police checkpoints and snap patrolling to safeguard against these threats.

The strategy involves not only rigorous law enforcement activities but also engaging local communities and stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment for tackling crime and ensuring the security of the region.
