Karachi: In an effort to bolster the efficiency and responsiveness of the police complaint cell, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a key meeting at the Central Police Office in Karachi on Thursday. The meeting focused on reviewing the current performance of the complaint cell and implementing necessary reforms to improve its functioning.
According to Sindh Police, the meeting was attended by key police officials including the DIG Headquarters, IT, AIG Admin, Grievance Cell, Operations, and PDIT. AIG Grievance Cell provided a comprehensive briefing on the department’s performance and outlined the remedial measures in place to handle public complaints effectively.
The attendees discussed the various channels through which the public can lodge complaints including MS, email, WhatsApp, and the dedicated telephone number 1715. Additionally, complaints can be sent directly to the email aigcomplaints.cpo@sindhpolice.gov.pk, via WhatsApp at 03141088831, or by traditional mail to the IGP Complaint Cell at the CPO in Karachi.
The meeting underscored the importance of timely resolution of complaints, with a special emphasis on making the complaint cell paperless and consolidating all complaint handling, including those related to the rights of women and children, at a single point. The goal is to simplify the procedure and make it more accessible to the public, ensuring that officers handle complaints diligently and follow up with compliance reports from the concerned officers.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Sindh police to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust in law enforcement processes.
