IG Sindh Chairs Meeting to Bolster Fight Against Organized Crime

Karachi: IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a video link conference to address strategies against organized crime, emphasizing stringent measures and coordination among various police divisions. The meeting aimed to enhance efforts across Sindh, including the implementation of new directives for the provincial task force.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting involved high-ranking officers from across the province, including Additional IG Karachi and DIGs from multiple regions who participated through video link. Memon instructed that the Karachi task force would operate under the supervision of Additional IG Karachi, with similar structures to be replicated across other divisions in Sindh under the leadership of Additional IGCDT.

The IG Sindh outlined a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within the police ranks, demanding the dismissal and legal action against officers found guilty of malpractice to preserve the integrity and efficiency of the force. He stressed the importance of the Special Branch in strengthening ties with the task force to ensure successful operations against organized crime networks.

Memon also highlighted the necessity of allocating budgets to police stations to ensure they are financially equipped to improve their operations. He advocated for a more foolproof process of information sharing and follow-up to combat organized crime effectively and called for rewarding officers who perform exceptionally in their duties against crime.

The initiative underscores a comprehensive approach to eradicate organized crime in Sindh, with a focus on systemic improvements and rigorous enforcement actions.
