Karachi, In a significant move to bolster law enforcement efficiency, Inspector General of Police Sindh, Riffat Mukhtar Raja, has directed the compilation of a centralized and comprehensive record of all criminals released on bail, with a particular focus on those involved in street crime and property offenses.
According to Sindh Police, the directive was issued during a meeting at the Central Police Office, Karachi, which was attended by senior police officers including DIGP Establishment, AIGP Operations, Legal I-II-III, Admin, ADIGP Legal Karachi, and Director IT of CPO. Officers from legal branches of other ranges also joined via video link. The AIGP Legal briefed the meeting about the necessity of maintaining detailed records of criminals involved in street crimes and property cases who had been granted bail.
IG Sindh Riffat Mukhtar Raja tasked the IT department of CPO Karachi to work in coordination with legal branches throughout the province to assemble daily data on released criminals and perform regular checks. He emphasized the importance of legal branches compiling comprehensive data on these individuals.
Additionally, the IG announced that inspection teams would be visiting legal branches, starting with the Karachi range in the first phase. These branches are required to take necessary actions and submit a report within 15 days.
IG Raja highlighted that police operations and investigations should particularly focus at the police station level on individuals released on bail after arrest, especially those involved in street crimes. This approach is aimed at intensifying and enhancing the success of police actions against habitual criminals.
