IG Punjab Usman Anwar Leads RPOs Conference, Emphasizes Security and Anti-Corruption in Lahore

Lahore: The Follow-Up RPOs Conference was held at the Central Police Office today, presided over by Inspector General Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar. The meeting gathered all Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs), District Police Officers (DPOs), and other senior officers to discuss the enhancement of police operations and security measures across the province.

According to Punjab Police, the conference underscored a collective commitment to bolster security and ensure robust police functioning, aligning with the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has emphasized the role of the Punjab Police as a frontline force. Dr. Usman Anwar articulated a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and called for intensified efforts in crime prevention and service delivery.

The session included a comprehensive review of the security arrangements for the upcoming Muharram observances, with detailed briefings from the RPOs and DPOs. The IG Punjab stressed the importance of collaboration with local religious scholars, community leaders, and institutions to safeguard the community from anti-state and anti-peace activities.

Furthermore, the conference addressed infrastructure developments such as the completion of Smart Police Stations and the Safe Cities project, aiming to modernize and enhance the efficiency of police services. Dr. Anwar also highlighted ongoing initiatives to improve the welfare of police personnel and their families.

The meeting, attended by additional IGs, including those from the Special Branch, Welfare and Finance, the Managing Director of the Safe City Authority, and other high-ranking officials, reaffirmed the Punjab Police’s dedication to maintaining peace and security throughout the province.
