Lahore, January 07, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has issued instructions to speed up operations against criminals and anti-social elements while expressing his anger over the crime situation in Rawalpindi region.
IG Punjab while presiding over the crime meeting at RPO office Rawalpindi said that the officers should improve their performance by taking timely action against the criminal elements because the supervisory officers who do not control crime will not have the right to stay on the seat.
IG Punjab directed that targeted operations should be conducted on a daily basis against drugs, gambling and other bases of crime and to strengthen the sense of security among the citizens through best performance.
Aamir Zulfiqar Khan said that a comprehensive strategy should be made to solve the street crime and traffic problems in Rawalpindi city, especially the gangs involved in car and motorcycle theft and snatching should be eradicated.
Came G Punjab directed the DPO Murree to be fully prepared to help the tourists during the snow season, the DPO himself should go out in the field to inspect the services provided to the citizens, especially the families, and provide cooperation and protection to the public. No effort should be spared in delivery. The IG Punjab directed that the officials who are taking money from hotels, harassing tourists unjustifiably and having unprofessional behaviour should be made an example.
He said that delay in registration of FIR will not be tolerated under any circumstances, robbery, theft and those responsible will be called to account for the delay in the FIR of Rahzani. Amir Zulfiqar Khan directed that police teams in plain clothes should be deployed in sensitive places, busy bazaars and markets, while the patrolling of other forces, including the Dolphin Force, should be made more effective to prevent street crime.
IG Punjab said including sensitive offices, educational institutions and places of worship the security plan of other public places should be revised and combing operations should be accelerated in all districts of the region. He said that indiscriminate action should be taken against the criminals and mafias who are seizing the property of the citizens, while their gangs should be wiped out by cracking down on professional pickpockets.
During the meeting, CP Rawalpindi along with DPOs of Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Tallaght gave a briefing about the crime graph and police performance of their districts. According to the details, on arrival of police lines Rawalpindi, the police chalk and choband squad saluted IG Punjab Amir Zulfiqar Khan, IG Punjab placed flowers on the martyrs’ memorial and recited Fatiha for the martyrs’ reward and elevation of ranks.
After recitation of Fatiha, IG Punjab reviewed the performance of Rawalpindi Region Police while presiding over the crime meeting. After the crime meeting, IG Punjab Aamir Zulfiqar Khan met the delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and ordered RP and Rawalpindi and CP Rawalpindi to provide all possible support on business community matters.
Hearing the problems of the citizens in the open court in Rawalpindi Police Lines and taking notice of the complaints of the citizens, immediate orders were issued to all the DPs of the region including RPO Rawalpindi.
On the complaint of the evicted mother, CPO Rawalpindi ordered immediate action and said that after the inquiry, the woman should be shifted to Kofouri house and legal action should be taken against the ASI son. IG Punjab ordered DPO Murree to send a report to CPO after removing the illegal occupation from the land of Khatun Anjum Malik in two days.
IG Punjab has directed the SP Investigation Rawalpindi to conduct an inquiry within 24 hours and determine the responsible parties on the request to keep the son of female citizen Rabia in legal custody. IG Punjab expressed indignation over the delay in police action on the theft incident at Ghulam Sakina’s house. He CPO Rawalpindi directed an inquiry into the matter and immediate justice.
Similarly, IG Punjab took action on the requests of citizens from Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal and ordered the DPOs of the three districts to solve the matter within a day and send the report to the Central Police Office.
