Lahore, November 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that immediate solution of public grievances and delivery of justice to citizens is the top priority of Punjab Police. Therefore, supervisory officers should personally ensure redressal of grievances of citizens coming to Khuli Katichary by taking timely measures.
Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that police can earn trust and cooperation of people by ensuring provision of best services to citizens and field officers should deliver the citizens in line with smart and community policy rules. He said that delay in registration of FIR and substandard investigation is tantamount to aiding and abetting to the oppressor and those were found involved in it should prepare themselves for strict departmental and legal action.
He further said that a list of field officers and personnel against whom complaints have been received in Khuli Katichary should be prepared and submitted to me so that I can personally seek answers from them. He expressed these views in a Khuli Katichary at Central Police Office today. He gave instructions to officers during his visit. IG Punjab listened to the complaints of more than 20 citizens and issued orders for their redressal.
The IG Punjab inquired the grievances of different citizens in the Khuli Katichary. IG Punjab issued orders to suspend DSP and SHO Saddar Kharian for delay in registration of FIR. While listening to complaint of a citizen named Muhammad Iqbal from Sahiwal, IGP directed DPO to undertake investigation of the case. Concerned DSP and SHO were also summoned to CPO for clarification.
Moreover, on complaint of citizen, SHO of police station Cantt Okara and SHO and investigation officer of Mansoora Abad, Faisalabad have also been summoned to Central police office for clarification of delay in taking of action. At the request of Abdul Shakoor, a resident of Sargodha, DSP and SHO Atta Shaheed Police Station were ordered to appear in CPO along with the applicant.
While at the request of other citizens, the concerned RPOs, DPOs and concerned officers have been directed to take actions immediately. IG Punjab further said that steps should be taken on priority basis for redressal of grievances of those who come to CPO in Khuli Katichary and complete record of applications of citizens should be maintained regularly.
