IG Punjab presided over video link RPOs conference, the crime situation in different regions and the performance of police teams were reviewed 

Lahore, February 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that in all the districts of the province, countermeasures should be speeded up to prevent robbery, dacoity, kidnapping for ransom, murder and other serious crimes. He emphasised that habitual and professional criminals should be arrested and punished. IG Punjab directed that RPOs, CPOs, DPOs should monitor the crackdown against organized groups involved in serious crimes and eliminate dangerous groups through targeted operations.

Dr. Usman Anwar said that operations should be accelerated to eliminate drugs, especially ice (meth) and shisha, and other modern and dangerous drugs from across the province. He stressed upon immediate arrest and punishment of anti-social suspect implicated in the heinous business around educational institutions and hostels.

IG Punjab said those antisocial elements who tempt young generation towards drugs addiction do not deserve any sympathy and these evils should be rooted out. Dr. Usman Anwar said that those responsible for the delay in police action on incidents of violence, abuse and harassment against children and women should prepare themselves for strict action.

IG Punjab directed that in the investigation of rape cases, focus should be on forensic science and modern methods of investigation and there should be no delay in strict legal action under zero tolerance against the habitual and professional criminals involved in such crimes.

Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the operations against the production, sale and use of metallic strings and kites should be speeded up throughout the province and no effort should be spared to punish those who cause danger to human lives through dangerous game.

He gave these directions while presiding over the video link conference held at the Central Police Office on Sunday while giving instructions to the officers. IG Punjab reviewed the crime situation in different regions and the performance of police teams.

IG Punjab while giving instructions to RPOs, DPOs said that torture or death during custody is not acceptable in any case, departmental and legal action against those responsible for such incidents will not be delayed. He directed that the full use of modern skills and forensic science should be strengthened during the investigation.

IG Punjab said that indiscriminate actions should be speeded up against the land grabbing mafias and their facilitators who are seizing the property of the citizens. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that in view of the threats of terrorism, the security arrangements of minority places of worship, sensitive offices and places should be improved, while the laws formulated in connection with the National Action Plan should be strictly implemented.

Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that along with PSL security, special attention should be paid to the offices and residences and personal security of foreigners, especially Chinese citizens, experts and investors. DIG IT, Ahsan Younis, DIG SPU, Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, AIG Operations Punjab, Ejaz Asad Malhi and AIG Monitoring, Ehsan ullah Chauhan were present while RPOs of different regions, DPOs and SSPs investigation participated through video link.
