IG Punjab Launches Record Scholarship Initiative for Police Employees’ Children

Lahore: In a major boost for the educational welfare of police families, the Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, has allocated Rs. 1 billion for scholarships aimed at supporting higher education for the children of police employees.

According to Punjab Police, the initiative has already disbursed over Rs. 124.7 million in scholarships to students pursuing BS Honors and Information Technology degrees across various districts, including Lahore. A total of 1,445 students in BS Honors programs have received Rs. 82.2 million, while 489 IT students have been awarded Rs. 41.8 million to cover their educational expenses.

Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that providing quality education for the children of police personnel is a top priority, with efforts being made to ensure substantial support for their academic and career development. This also includes offering foreign scholarships to exceptionally talented children of police employees, with comprehensive guidance for their future career paths.
