IG Punjab Launches Extensive Scholarship Program for Police Employees’ Children

Lahore: In a significant move to support the education of police employees’ children, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has initiated a record scholarship distribution, channeling 1 billion rupees into educational welfare this year.

According to Punjab Police, the initiative has allocated over 90 million rupees directly to hundreds of students pursuing various academic degrees in Lahore and other districts. The scholarships cover tuition fees for programs ranging from BS Honors to engineering and law degrees, reflecting a comprehensive effort to foster educational opportunities across multiple disciplines.

Dr. Anwar detailed the scope of the funding during a discussion at the Central Police Office, highlighting the strategic partnerships with educational institutions through Memorandums of Understanding and the distribution of laptops to academically outstanding students.

The educational push aligns with broader welfare measures aimed at enhancing the quality of life for police personnel and their families, ensuring ongoing support and resources for the next generation of scholars and professionals.
