IG Punjab Lauds Police Force Amidst Border Tensions

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has praised the Punjab Police for their exceptional performance during recent border tensions. The police force, including the Counter Terrorism Department, Special Branch, Special Protection Unit, and the Elite Force, provided significant support to the Pakistan Army and other relevant institutions during the crisis.

Dr. Anwar noted that the Punjab Police remained on high alert, working closely with the military to ensure the safety of affected areas. Police personnel were actively involved in rescue and relief efforts, and coordinated seamlessly with Civil Defence, Rescue services, and District Administration under the War Book Standard Operating Procedures.

Vigilance was heightened to thwart any intentions of terrorists and anti-state elements. Through strategic planning and preventive measures, the integrity of the country’s internal borders was maintained. Security and law and order were stabilized across the province, including in Lahore, with no reports of untoward incidents.

The police conducted preventive measures, mock exercises, and search operations to manage the emergency effectively. Dr. Anwar emphasized that security has been increased at foreign embassies and sensitive sites, assuring that the Punjab Police is prepared to counteract any threats to peace.

Commending the entire police force, Dr. Anwar acknowledged their efforts in holding accountable those who sought to disrupt order, asserting that the Punjab Police stands ready to counter any attempts by adversaries to destabilize the region.
