IG Punjab Lauds Efforts Against Organized Crime in Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan


Lahore: An important meeting was convened at the Central Police Office, chaired by Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, to assess the performance of the CCD Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan regions. The meeting, conducted via video link, involved regional and district police officers from both areas.



The Punjab Police spokesperson reported that the Regional Officers of the CCD briefed the meeting on the targets achieved. Dr. Anwar commended the efforts of CCD Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, and district police forces for their role in dismantling the Bosan gang through a joint operation. He noted a significant reduction in crime rates in Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur, attributing it to effective coordination between the CCD and district police.



Additional IG CCD, Sohail Zafar Chatha, emphasized that combating organized crime, including kacha criminals, is a priority. Dr. Anwar highlighted the establishment of a robust working relationship between the district police and CCD, facilitated by the provision of resources such as personnel, transport, and logistics.



Dr. Anwar instructed the CCD to expedite the arrest of high-profile offenders and gangs, ensuring all records and charge sheets are up-to-date. He also called for intensified efforts to prevent motorcycle and cattle theft and to recover missing persons.



Senior police officials, including DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir and DIG CCD Waqas-ul-Hasan, attended the meeting.
