Lahore, In a resolute audio message to the police force, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding Chinese investments and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, describing any attack on these assets as an assault on Pakistan’s economy and freedom. The message outlined a strategy for “target hardening” to ensure the security of these vital economic endeavors.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar highlighted the intrinsic link between the security of the nation and the prosperity of its economy. He praised the police force’s efforts in not only thwarting terrorist attacks but also in overcoming the terrorists themselves. Dr. Anwar underscored the necessity of a united front, involving both the police and the citizenry, to prevent attacks on civilians and protect national assets.
The IG Punjab called on all members of the police force, regardless of their specific duties—whether patrolling, securing sensitive installations, guarding foreign nationals and CPEC projects, or stationed at government buildings and police stations—to ensure their own safety as well as to actively prevent any potential attacks.
Dr. Anwar concluded his message with a vow of continued cooperation and determination, expressing confidence that, with collective efforts, the police would succeed in defeating any threats to the country’s security and economic well-being.
