Lahore, Dr. Usman Anwar, Inspector General of Punjab Police, has enacted significant measures to enhance the educational opportunities for the children of police employees. The Punjab Police has successfully distributed 75 crore rupees in scholarships from the Punjab Police Welfare Fund for the current year, and is on track to reach the 85 crore rupees target by the end of December.
According to Punjab Police, all claims for educational assistance for the years 2021 and 2022 have been fulfilled, and the process for 2023 is proceeding as planned. The funds for these scholarships stem from the Welfare Fund, which is sustained by deductions from police employees’ salaries. IG Punjab expressed satisfaction with the current progress and outlined the ongoing efforts to sign MOUs with prestigious educational institutions for the higher education of these children, including scholarships for study abroad.
