Lahore, The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, honored 11 police officers and officials with the IG Gallantry Awards for their exceptional courage, bravery, and dedication in the line of duty. The ceremony, held at the Central Police Office, recognized those who demonstrated outstanding performance while facing dangerous situations.
According to Punjab Police, IG Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the award recipients, emphasizing the importance of protecting the lives and property of citizens and urging the acceleration of operations to eliminate crime across the province. He called for the effective use of modern technology to further improve crime control and public service delivery.
The ceremony highlighted police officers and personnel who displayed determination and bravery during their duty. Among those honored were members of the police team that saved a woman from an angry mob in Ichra. SP Shehzad Rafiq Awan and ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi received certificates of appreciation, while SHO Ichra Muhammad Bilal Arabi, ASI Sajid Majeed, and Head Constables Usman and Adnan were awarded gallantry awards for their roles in the same incident.
Sub-Inspector Sajid Hasan from Rajanpur Police was recognized for his role in eradicating kacha criminals, while Constable Abdul Raees from PHP Mianwali received a gallantry award for his bravery against terrorists. The gallantry award for Head Constable Haroon Rasheed Khan Shaheed was presented to his family. Additionally, Qaiser Shahzad and Amanullah Khan from CTD were honored for their successful operation against terrorists.
IG Dr. Usman Anwar praised these officers and officials as bright examples for the entire force, reaffirming his commitment to encouraging such brave and dedicated personnel. He urged the award-winning officers to intensify targeted operations to protect the public and suppress criminals.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, including Additional IG Operations Shahzada Sultan, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, and Commandant PTC Chung, among others.
