IG Punjab Focuses on Enhancing Capabilities of Elite Force

Lahore, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, emphasized the need to improve the training and capabilities of the Elite Force modern skills and latest technology. He stated that this specialization is crucial for the rapid eradication of terrorists, fundamentalists, and criminals, especially in challenging terrains like kacha and riverine areas. During his visit to the Elite Training School and Headquarters in Bedian, IG Punjab directed that the Elite personnel should be trained in the use of long-range weapons and night vision technology.

According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar highlighted the importance of equipping Elite officials with the latest weapons and technology to effectively operate in dangerous and difficult areas. He called for regular training workshops and mock exercises to enhance the response rate of the Elite Force. Utilizing the expertise of instructors specialized in crime fighting and special operations is essential, he added.

During his visit, Dr. Anwar also inspected the ongoing construction of residential blocks for Elite Force officers and officials, along with other facilities like the training school mess and canteen. He was briefed about development projects by SSP Headquarters Elite Force Headquarters Dr. Nida Umar Chatta and other senior officers, including Additional IG Elite Dr. Muhammad Waqar Abbasi and DIG Elite Sadiq Ali Dogar.
