IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar directs to take preferential measures for welfare of police employees and officials

Lahore, August 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has issued orders to speed up welfare measures for the best welfare of police employees and personnel. IG Punjab said that the best welfare of police force is my first priority, so measures should be continued on priority basis for the welfare of the employees serving in all the districts of the province.

IG Punjab directed that there should be no slack in measures for best support of the children and families of police martyrs, while the pension issues of retired officers and widows of police officers should be resolved on a priority basis. IG Punjab directed that all available resources should be utilized for the welfare of police employees and personnel through the categories formulated under the Welfare Policy 2021-22 and in this regard the supervisory officers should ensure all possible measures under personal supervision.

According to the details, as per instructions of IG Punjab, the welfare branch of Punjab Police is actively working for welfare of police personnel and in this regard, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Farooq Mazhar issued details for the welfare of personnel in the financial year 2021-22. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Farooq Mazhar said that last year a total of 81 crore, 58 lakh, 13 thousand 328 rupees were released for welfare fund for 23907 employees.

17 crore, 64 lakh, 20 thousand rupees were given to 4102 police employees for the marriage of their daughters. 10 crore, 32 lakh, 38 thousand 788 rupees were given to the children of 3503 police employees in the form of educational expenses. 5 crore, 65 lakh, 96 thousand, 37 rupees were released to 1238 police employees in the form of medical expenses. 3 crore, 83 lakh, 22 thousand, 477 rupees were released for the educational expenses of 537 police martyrs.

Similarly, 3 crore, 31 lakh 50 thousand rupees were released for the burial expenses of 663 employees. 9 crore, 7 lakh, 38 thousand and 766 rupees were given to 2635 police employees as the last basic pay. 31 crores, 73 lakhs, 47 thousand and 260 rupees have been released in the form of Guzara allowance. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Farooq Mazhar further said that according to the orders of IG Punjab, more steps will be taken for the welfare of the personnel in the future.
