IG Punjab Engages Directly with Police Personnel and Families to Address Concerns


Lahore: In a significant engagement at the Central Police Office today, Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar met with police personnel and their families, emphasizing the familial nature of the force and the importance of addressing their needs. Dr. Anwar directed senior officers to maintain open communication and expedite the resolution of issues faced by the staff and their families.



According to Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar took a hands-on approach during the meeting, directly listening to the grievances and requests of police employees. He issued orders for immediate relief in several cases, demonstrating a responsive and proactive leadership style. Notable directives included the approval of a recruitment request for the son of late Constable Syed Maqbool Shah Gilani, and immediate medical assistance for retired Constable Syed Fayyaz Hussain. Financial support was also approved for the construction of a house for the mother of martyred Constable Akhtar Abbas.



The meeting highlighted several personal appeals, such as the job change request from Constable Muhammad Fazal Khan’s son, which was referred to the DPO Khanewal for further action. Dr. Anwar’s orders extended to the provision of medical treatment for Abdul Qayyum, with specific instructions for the DIG Welfare to ensure timely aid.



IG Punjab’s directive for senior officers to submit action reports on these matters underscores his commitment to the welfare of the police force. Dr. Anwar reiterated the priority of supporting police employees and their families, ensuring that the organization upholds its duty towards its members.
