Lahore, May 19, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that Punjab Highway Patrol Police has a key role in preventing accidents and crimes on highways. and He said that the PHP police should ensure the use of crime prevention App in its working system and the robbers, dacoits, bandits and anti-social elements involved in highway crime should be arrested and punished. and IG Punjab said that in the budget of next financial year, efforts are being made out to enhance the salaries of Punjab Police substantially.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that the service and salary structure of PHP Police needs to be further improved. and He said that the task of health screening in the Punjab Highway Patrol Police is also in the final stages of completion and we are ensuring the provision of modern medical facilities to police employees in order to protect them from contagious diseases.
IG Punjab said that income is being increased through new petrol pumps and projects of police and we are spending this income on welfare of Sipah. and Punjab Highway Patrol Police must improve its performance. IG Punjab further said that the proposal is under consideration that PHP should be given specific share of money obtained from challans on the patterns of and Motorway police and KPK police.
He expressed these views while addressing the officials of the Punjab Highway Patrol Police at the Central Police Office today.
According to the details, IG Punjab encouraged the PHP personnel serving in different districts of the province with cash rewards and CC1 certificates for their good performance. and IG Punjab invited 85 officers from the rank of constables to sub-inspectors to his office and awarded those 10,000 each along with CC1 certificates.
IG Punjab directed the officials who received the awards to perform their duties with more effort and enthusiasm than before and said that priority measures should be continued for the protection of life and property of the citizens on the roads, compliance with traffic rules and suppression of crimes. and Additional IGP PHP Rao Abdul Karim, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah and other officers were also present on this occasion.
