IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Visits SOS Village, Announces Support and Organizes Sports Event for Orphans

Karachi, In a heartwarming gesture, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid a visit to the SOS Village, where he met and spent quality time with orphan children. His visit not only signified compassion but also included the announcement of a cricket match between the ladies’ police team and children of the SOS Village, fostering a spirit of community and support.

According to Punjab Police, upon his arrival at the SOS Village, Dr. Anwar was warmly welcomed by the orphans who presented him with a bouquet. The visit, facilitated by Director Almas Butt and other officers, included a tour of the village, providing Dr. Anwar with insights into the living conditions and facilities provided to the children.

During his visit, Dr. Usman Anwar announced that a cricket match would be held on Saturday, December 23, at the SOS Village Ground, featuring a friendly competition between the ladies’ police team and the SOS Village children. To further encourage sports and physical activities among the children, the Punjab Police will provide cricket, football, and badminton kits to the SOS Village children’s team.

Dr. Anwar’s engagement with the children went beyond formalities, as he actively participated in cricket, badminton, and football games with them at the SOS Village Sports Ground. This interaction showcased his commitment to building positive relationships with the community, especially the younger members.

In his address, IG Punjab praised the efforts of the SOS Village administration for their exemplary work in providing housing, education, and healthcare facilities to orphans and destitute children. He also highlighted the Punjab Police’s role in supporting and caring for homeless, orphans, and child labor victims through Tahaffuz centers.

The visit by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar to the SOS Village reflects the Punjab Police’s broader commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, emphasizing the importance of supporting vulnerable groups in society.
