IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Visits Private University, Signs MOU for Police Employees’ Welfare

Lahore, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar recently visited a well-known private university, where he was welcomed by Chairman University Owais Rauf.

According to Punjab Police, during the visit, Dr. Usman Anwar and Chairman Owais Rauf discussed the higher education of police employees’ children and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for health care. The MOU ensures a 50% fee discount for the children of serving police employees and special fee concessions for MPhil and postgraduate programs. Additionally, the agreement includes free treatment for heart and other diseases at the university’s teaching hospital for police employees and their children.

IG Punjab also toured the university’s teaching hospital, inspecting various departments including cardiology. The visit further included the announcement that free medical camps will be organized for all police units by the university’s teaching hospital. Dr. Anwar highlighted the internship opportunities for University of Lahore students under the Friends of Police and Volunteers in Police programs, with internships in Punjab Police being prioritized for educational and research purposes.

The visit culminated in the inauguration of the Traffic Police Driving School within the university campus. Dr. Anwar ordered the immediate establishment of a driving licensing center at the university to facilitate students, their parents, and families. He also visited the university’s sports complex, accompanied by several police officials including Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riaz Nazir Gada and DIGs.
