IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Visits Jamia Ashrafia in Lahore

Lahore, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, recently visited Jamia Ashrafia, a prominent religious educational institute, where he met with various scholars and explored the institution’s facilities.

According to Punjab Police, during his visit, Dr. Usman Anwar met with Chief Administrator Hafiz Asad Obaid, Principal Maulana Fazal ur Rahim, and other notable scholars. He toured the classrooms, library, computer lab, mosque, and other departments of the institute, engaging with children and inquiring about their educational activities.

Dr. Usman Anwar noted that Jamia Ashrafia educates thousands of children from diverse schools of thought in a modern and secure environment. He emphasized that the institute’s classrooms are well-equipped and monitored by CCTV cameras, providing a safe and conducive learning atmosphere. The IG Punjab highlighted the significance of projecting the true image of religious schools, countering any misinformation or propaganda against them.

Hafiz Asad Obaid briefed Dr. Usman Anwar on the range of facilities and educational programs offered at Jamia Ashrafia. He mentioned that the institute provides religious education in multiple languages, including Arabic, Persian, Chinese, and English. Jamia Ashrafia’s website and toll-free number also offer guidance on religious issues to Muslims globally, serving over 4,000 students from various denominations, including Hadith, Barelvi, Deobandi, and Shia schools of thought.

Dr. Usman Anwar recorded a special message regarding the educational activities at Jamia Ashrafia, commending the institute’s role in promoting religious education. The visit was also attended by DIG Operations Lahore Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, DIG Elite Mansoor ul Haq, SSP Operations Lahore Ali Raza, SP Irtaza, SDPO Gulberg ASP Shaherbano Naqvi, and other officers.
