Lahore, February 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that we have to fight together in the spirit of patriotism for the complete elimination of terrorists and anti-social elements from the province and ensure the elimination of terrorists as well as their facilitators. IG Punjab said that just as the brave personnel of the police in Mianwali foiled ambitions of the terrorists with exceptional bravery and the best intelligence, we are to fight with the same spirit to drive out the anti-social elements involved in terrorism, sectarianism and organized crime from our homeland so that safety of the lives and property of the citizens may be ensured.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that in order to conduct transparent and peaceful elections, we have to perform our duties impartially and honestly and no effort will be spared to ensure supremacy of law and order and protection of lives and properties of citizens.
He said that providing all possible help to Election Commission and all other supportive institutions for conducting transparent elections in a peaceful environment is one of the top priorities. IG Punjab said that delay in registering cases of robbery, theft and dacoity is not acceptable in any case and those responsible for such incidents should prepare themselves for severe consequences.
Dr. Usman Anwar while addressing the officers and personnel of Lahore Police said that I assure that no file of your welfare, promotions and other matters will remain pending in CPO or districts. He said that he has ordered to make decisions on the pending appeals against the punishments of police officers and personnel in Punjab by February 16,2023 while all the RPOs, DPOs across province have been given a three-day deadline period to speed up the process of departmental promotion of police officers and personnel.
Giving the deadline, it has been mandated that all documents and recommendations including ACRs for promotion from constable to DSP should be sent to the Central Police Office by February 9. IG Punjab said that measures should be continued on a priority basis for the security of foreign nationals especially Chinese in all districts of the province.
He stressed that all resources should be utilized as per the SOPs issued for the security of minorities and their worship places. IG Punjab directed to fix top ten targets at police station, sub-division and district levels in all districts and take all possible steps to achieve them.
He said that the timely return of the investigation officers from the courts should be ensured so that the investigation officers remain in the police stations and the citizens do not have to face any problem to solve their grievances.
IG Punjab directed that effective use of social media should be ensured to publicize the good works of the police and to ensure easy access of services and information to the citizens through social media. The IG Punjab directed that immediate registration of electricity theft cases should be accelerated whereas in case of violation of Loudspeaker Act, indiscriminate actions should be taken and reports be sent to the Central Police Office regularly.
He said that proclaimed offenders should be arrested on priority basis and in this regard ensured close liaison with the applicants of such cases. He expressed these views today while addressing the supervisory officers, SSPs, SPs, in-charge investigation and SHOs of Lahore Police at Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar visited the martyrs’ memorial on arrival at Qila Gujjar Singh and recited Fatiha for the higher ranks of martyrs. While giving instructions to the officers in the address, he said that if you want to please me and stay in the field, then you have to consider the problems of citizens as your own problem.
IG Punjab emphasized that incidents of death or escape in police custody should not be tolerated, so all the officers should focus on modern methods of investigation and bring real punishment to the criminals. CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations, DIG Investigation and all SSPs were also present on this occasion.
