Lahore, In a recent visit to the Punjab Constabulary Headquarters in Farooqabad, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar presided over a significant meeting addressing training matters of Punjab Constabulary officials. Furthermore, he reviewed training modules, assessed field exercises, listened to officers’ concerns, and honored outstanding personnel across various categories.
According to a news release by the Punjab Police, Dr. Anwar began his visit by paying respects at the Martyrs Memorial, where he laid wreaths and offered Fatiha, acknowledging the sacrifices of police martyrs. His subsequent inspection of the anti-riot force’s exercise at the parade ground underlined the importance of mastering modern law and order control training. He emphasized that this course, geared towards managing emergency scenarios like controlling aggressive protesters, is pivotal in modern-day policing.
During his visit to the Police Training School Farooqabad, the school’s Principal, Tanveer Ahmad Tahir, briefed him on training courses and state-of-the-art facilities available. Engaging with the trainees, both male and female, Dr. Anwar gauged their feedback on training sessions and addressed their concerns. Reiterating the significance of top-notch training, he later inaugurated the welfare canteen, ensuring that trainees have access to hygienic food at reduced prices.
At a gathering in the renovated auditorium of the Punjab Constabulary Headquarters, over 200 officers ranging from constables to inspectors were recognized for their excellence. They received appreciation certificates, shields, trophies, and cash prizes from the IG Punjab.
Addressing the officers, Dr. Anwar underscored the constabulary’s role in safeguarding sensitive locations, emphasizing the need for constant vigilance. He encouraged courteous interaction with the public and stressed eradicating crimes. Addressing concerns, he ensured prompt resolution and affirmed that his office remains open to officials for direct communication on any matter.

Dr. Anwar emphasized nurturing trainees with contemporary policing skills, bolstering communication within ranks, and expediting the resolution of welfare-related issues. He further advised regular expert-led lectures and an increased focus on extracurricular activities.
