IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Prioritizes Welfare of Police Personnel and Their Families


Lahore: In a significant engagement at the Central Police Office, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, met with police personnel and their families to address their concerns directly. This meeting underscored the Punjab Police’s commitment to the welfare of its employees and the families of those who have served.



According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 27 September 2024, Dr. Anwar took personal interest in the grievances and requests presented during the meeting, issuing several directives to ensure the issues were resolved promptly. Notably, he instructed the AIG Admin to facilitate the transfer of Shaheed ASI Ehsan Ullah’s wife from the Punjab Constabulary to Okara district, demonstrating a responsive approach to the needs of police families.



Further actions included directing the DIG Welfare to consider Constable Imran Bashir’s request from Hafizabad for recognition as a “Ghazi,” a title awarded for bravery. Additionally, the recruitment application of Ali Hamza, the son of Shaheed Head Constable Muhammad Rasheed, was moved forward, with instructions for relief to be provided. Sub-Inspector Arshad Mahmood’s service regularization and a merit-based review of a case involving Sub-Inspector Muhammad Intizar Hussain from Kasur were also ordered.



IG Punjab emphasized the importance of addressing these administrative, disciplinary, and welfare-related issues swiftly, underscoring the department’s dedication to its members’ and their families’ well-being. This meeting highlighted the leadership’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the welfare of the force remains a top priority.
