IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Prioritizes Police Welfare, Issues Directives to Address Personnel Concerns


Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has emphasized that addressing the welfare, discipline, and administrative issues of police personnel is a top priority for the Punjab Police. During a meeting held at the Central Police Office today, Dr. Anwar directed supervisory officers to maintain a close liaison with their subordinates and ensure the prompt resolution of their concerns. He described the Punjab Police as a family unit and reiterated his commitment to resolving the challenges faced by its members.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar listened to various requests from police employees and their families at the meeting, promptly issuing orders to address their issues. He directed the AIG Development to process the transfer of a flat to Constable Maryam Iftikhar, daughter of Sub-Inspector Iftikhar Ahmed. Additionally, the Additional IG Investigation was instructed to look into the reappointment of retired Inspector Muhammad Aslam as a trainer.



The meeting also addressed the requests of the family of Head Constable Muhammad Hanif Shaheed, leading to directives for the provision of a flat and plot. Dr. Anwar instructed the DIG Establishment-I to act on the promotion request of ASI Syed Manzoor Ali Shah from Khanewal. The DPO Kasur was tasked with taking immediate legal action on the application of Traffic Assistant Shahbaz Ahmed. Concerns about job provision from the wife of late Driver Constable Muhammad Inam Ilahi were forwarded to the DIG Welfare for resolution.



Further emphasizing the department’s commitment to its personnel, IG Punjab instructed the AIG Admin to facilitate the transfer request of Class IV employee Muhammad Khaliq-ul-Zaman to Punjab Constabulary Farooqabad. He also directed all Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs), and District Police Officers (DPOs) to expedite actions for resolving the issues of subordinate staff and the force at large.
