IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Prioritizes Health Welfare of Police Personnel and Their Families

Lahore, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is actively implementing measures to support the health welfare of police employees and their families, with significant financial assistance being provided for medical expenses. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to the well-being of its workforce and their dependents.

According to Punjab Police, substantial financial support was extended to several police employees for various medical needs. Kamran Mehmood, a constable of Tele and Transport, received Rs. 10 lakh for a kidney transplant. Retired Inspector Nazir Ahmed Saqib from Faisalabad was allocated Rs. 02 lakh for a bypass operation. Gujarat Police’s constable Muhammad Naeem Ashraf received Rs. 01 lakh for medical expenses, and Tele Transport Punjab’s constable Abdul Majeed was given 70 thousand rupees for his wife’s spinal cord treatment.

The funding decisions were made after thorough scrutiny and approval by the Welfare Management Committee, chaired by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Riyaz Nazir Gada. These cases were then forwarded to IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who authorized the release of the funds.

Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the importance of the health and welfare of the police force and their families, stating that it remains a top priority. He also affirmed that additional measures would be implemented to further support the health and welfare needs of police personnel and their families.
