Lahore, July 11, 2023 (PPI-OT): Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar met the PHP team for saving a woman along with children from suicide in Sheikhupura and encouraged ASIs Imran Shehzad and Qaiser Abbas on their chests. The two officials had saved the woman and her children who were trying to commit suicide by jumping into the canal. Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the two PHP officials for their good initiative, IG Punjab met the woman in the office, expressed compassion to the young children and also provided financial assistance to their mother, Dr. Usman Anwar related. The police officers were directed to contact the husband of the victim woman to solve the problem through understanding.

IG Punjab said that due to the timely action of the patrolling police, it was possible to protect 04 precious human lives, including women and children. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that protection of life and property of citizens, community policing is the motto of Punjab Police. According to the details, Asma Bibi, a resident of Sialkot, fed up with her husband’s abusive behaviour and financial problems, tried to jump into the canal along with 03 young children. AIG Admin Amara Athar and other officers were also present on the occasion of the meeting.
